Japanese Maple Bonsai

Bonsai Maple — admin on July 1, 2008 at 7:55 am

The Japanese Maple bonsai tree is the most commonly used tree for outdoor gardens. This tree is small in size and has delicate foliage that changes colors in the fall from gold to red. The way that you prune your tree will determine the way that your leaves will look and the way that your tree will look in your garden. Your Maple Bonsai will need some shade in the summer and full sun for the rest of the year. Make sure to not plant your tree in a windy area as this will not help your tree to thrive outside.

I have posted about buying a maple bonsai tree before and these little tree’s are just so great to have as a new addition to your indoor garden. When thinking about buying a bonsai tree think about where you live and where you will be putting your tree. The maple bonsai tree can grow in almost any environment and is very easy to care for. Having a bonsai as a new addition to your home garden is a great idea and one that will last for years to come.

Trident Maple Bonsai Tree
(Acer Buergerianum)

Well known for the superb colors of its foliage in autumn (fall). The bark is a dappled pale brown and exfoliates with age revealing a grey orange and brown color. The small leaves (which resist scorching during drought) have 3 short lobes close together - hence the name Tri-dent. The spring flowers are inconspicuous and the new growth is often bronze to purple. Deciduous - Keep outdoors. Available 12 months a year. Will have no foliage during winter months.
