Black Pine Bonsai

Pine Bonsai — admin on July 5, 2008 at 8:56 pm

A black pine bonsai tree is not a beginners tree. If this will be your first tree, you may want to think about getting a ficus or juniper bonsai as these are easier to maintain and care for and a great way to get the hang of what it takes to care for your own indoor bonsai. A black pine will need a lot more care and time than most other bonsai tree’s. Black pine tree’s need full sun, re potting in the early Spring and watering almost daily.

I have posted before about bonsai pine trees and how they are much harder to care for than just a standard bonsai tree. When thinking about buying a bonsai make sure to think about how much time you have available to dedicate to taking care of your new tree. Caring for a bonsai tree can take more or less time depending on the style and variety you buy. The pine variety needs more nurturing and care than a standard Japanese or maple bonsai. Whichever type of tree you decide, look up how to take care of it and what climate it can live in to make sure that you are making the right decision.

If you are thinking of getting a pine bonsai tree for your home just make sure that you are aware that a pine bonsai tree will need more care than a traditional bonsai tree. Pine bonsai tree’s need a lot of sun and to be watered on a schedule. Also, pine bonsai tree’s can handle colder weather and can be planted outside. You want to make sure that when watering your pine bonsai tree you do not over water. This is very bad for a pine bonsai tree. You also want a nice course soil for your pine bonsai tree as the water needs to be able to drain very easily. Pine bonsai tree’s will become very good size and will need to be repotted several times. This tree also likes to have a deep base to pot in so the roots can grown nice and string.
